Diversity and cover percents of macroalgae species in intertidal zone of Pane

Macroalgae or often referred to as seaweed is very abundant in Indonesian waters especially sea waters, including Central Tapanuli. But it unfortunate because not many people know about it, even though the has benefits. This study aims determine amount of macroalgae cover and their diversity on one island Tapanuli, namely Pane Island. research was conducted from July September 2019 intertidal zone with three observations, once a month. At site, classes were found consisting six species, Sargassum crassifolium, cristaefolium, Halimeda macroloba, Padina minor, Turbinaria decurrens Hypnea pannosa. The highest percent occupied by Phaeophyta division lowest Rhodophyta division.
